PGE Energia Ciepła – a subsidiary of Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) – has signed a contract with SBB Energy for the construction of a new gas-fired boiler house at the heat and power plant in Kielce.
The thermal power of the gas boiler house will consist of a set of five water boilers with a capacity of 32 MWt each. As part of the investment, an installation necessary for the output of thermal power, gas connection and other infrastructure necessary for the operation of the entire plant will be built.
The task of the boilers will be to produce hot water for the production of heat for heating purposes and provide hot water for the inhabitants of Kielce.
“Signing the contract for the construction of a gas boiler house in the Kielce CHP plant is another step in the country’s energy transformation. The pro-ecological gas unit in Kielce will allow us to implement a strategy under which we consistently switch to gas fuel in our combined heat and power plants. The construction of an investment that is important for the city will ensure the production of heat and electricity in an effective and friendly way to the environment and health of its inhabitants, ”said president of PGE Energia Ciepła, Przemysław Kołodziejek.
