SatRev has concluded a three-year contract with the National Support Center for Agriculture (KOWR) worth PLN 38.995 million with the option to extend it by one year, the company announced. This is one of the largest contracts for satellite Earth observation in Central Europe. The project involves providing data for the purposes of monitoring agricultural crops in Poland.
“After several years of research and development conducted by multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers, we are ready to enter the market. Our existing relationships with municipalities in Poland, along with the development of an ambitious project for KOWR, give us the speed, momentum and ability to provide comprehensive solutions,” said President Grzegorz Zwoliński, quoted in the release.
The recipients of the S2MUR system will be agricultural producers, including individual farmers, as the system will monitor crops at the level of cultivation plots, including small plots of unusual shapes. The recipients of the system will also be public administration at the central and local government level.
SatRev was founded in Poland in 2016 to focus on the emerging space market. With its vertically integrated business, the company specializes in the design, manufacture and operation of satellites.
