Thanks to PGNiG’s involvement in the case pending before the court in Dusseldorf, we managed to achieve success; The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will be covered by European law, and thus European free trade rules will have to be applied – said Deputy Prime Minister, Head of MAP Jacek Sasin.
On Wednesday, the Higher National Court in Dusseldorf dismissed the complaint of the owner of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline against the negative decision of the German regulator regarding derogation, i.e. exemption from the rules of operation regulated by the gas directive.
“The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline that is already at the end will not be able to be actually used by the Russians as an element of gas blackmail for the countries of our part of Europe. The Russian side will also not be able to dictate prices, which was a practice that, unfortunately, Poland was also experienced” – said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin.
