Romet took over the Prorowery chain of stores

Romet has acquired a chain of large-area bicycle stores with Prorowery's sports range, the company said. The Romet Group assumes that the investment will bring revenues of over PLN 100 million this season, which will make it possible to achieve a total result of over PLN 600 million.

The Prorowery network consists of 45 branches with a total area of over 30,000 sq m. m2, located in towns throughout the country, where Romet has not had its stores so far. The company plans to open another 30-35 stores by the end of the year, it also said.

The new investment is a response to the current needs of customers who expect comprehensive, professional service in specialist stores, it is also a conscious step in the development of the Romet Group towards direct sales in accordance with the latest global trends, the company convinces.

“Sales trends in the sports industry have changed significantly over the last few years, especially in the area of combining online shopping with direct contact with the customer and enabling them to have a physical experience with the product. That is why we have taken steps to scale our business in line with these trends and we are dynamically developing our store network. The new investment complements the existing Romet bicycle distribution network, which currently has over 600 partner stores, with its own stores. What distinguishes us from the competition and most of the currently functioning bicycle shops is the possibility to test the bike before buying it. Many customers expect it, and only a few stores in our industry offer such a possibility. It is equally important that the customer has at his disposal a wide range of several leading bicycle brands specialized in their segments, ”said Grzegorz Grzyb, vice president of the Romet Group, quoted in the release.

Romet is a family company with 100% Polish capital, a leader in the two-wheeler industry with over 30 years of experience in the production of bicycles. In its factories, it produces annually approx. 400 thousand bicycles, which accounts for 1/3 of all production in Poland. Romet factories are located in the headquarters in Podgrodzie near Dębica and in Jastrowie in the north of Poland, together with a logistics center in Kowalewo.
