Radosław Sierpiński has been appointed president of the Medical Research Agency (ABM), informed the Ministry of Health.
So far, Sierpiński was acting President of ABM.
Dr hab. Radosław Sierpiński is – as stated on the ABM website – a doctor and manager specializing in management in the medical sector, clinical trials, HTA and science management. He is the Prime Minister’s representative for the development of the biotechnology sector and Poland’s independence in the field of blood products.
“He has extensive experience in research and development in biotechnology and extensive contacts with international scientific institutions and health care management institutions. His interests include, in particular, innovative technologies, management and commercialization of research “- we also read.
Sierpiński worked in the Department of Heart Rhythm Disorders at the Institute of Cardiology in Warsaw and in private health care units as a doctor and medical director. In 2018-2019 he was an advisor to the Minister of Health Łukasz Szumowski. He collaborated with the Foundation and Association for Patients with Heart Rhythm Disorders – Heart for Arrhythmia.
In 2018-2020, he was a member of the Council of the National Center for Research and Development, representing the Minister of Health and expert teams at the Minister of Health and the Minister of Science and Higher Education. He was the chairman of the social council of SCCHS in Zabrze and the vice-chairman of the social council of the Mazowieckie National Health Fund in Mazowieckie. In the years 2019-2020 he was a member of the supervisory board of PZU Zdrowie.
The Medical Research Agency (ABM) is the state agency responsible for research development in the field of medical sciences and health sciences. It started its activity in 2019.
