The “cut & sew center” in Łódź and intends to invest PLN 7 million, said the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), which supported the investment process. The company plans to start operations in Poland at the end of 2021 and employ 50 people in the first year, ultimately – 170 employees.
“We are glad that Printful has chosen Poland as the location of its next headquarters. The company’s investment will undoubtedly favor the development of Łódź’s specialization as a creative center and, of course, refer to the best traditions of the city as a Polish center of design and clothing design. The creation of new jobs for tailors and seamstresses is, in turn, new opportunities for specialists from the Łódź region, who often take up jobs outside of their learned profession, and aimed at the clothing industry. This is an important project for us, it will give the opportunity to develop the high specialist professional qualifications of Poles, ”said Marcin Fabianowicz, director of the PAIH Investment Center.
According to the Agency, the center with an area of over 9,000 m2 will specialize in “cut & sew” services; it is a rapidly developing technique that allows the production and full personalization of prints on all clothing products.
“Over the last 10 years, Poland has increased its clothing exports by 104%, so in order to keep up with the growing demand for ‘cut & sew’ services, we have chosen Poland as our next location. Considering that Łódź is historically known for its well-developed textile and clothing industry, our decision was based on employee availability and market opportunities, ”said CEO and co-founder of Printful Davis Siksnans.
Printful’s revenues increased by approximately 80% in 2020 to over $200 million. To date, Printful has sold over 33 million personalized products to customers worldwide. The Latvian company integrates with the most popular e-commerce platforms, including Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, Wix, and Squarespace. Printful has 10 factories, four of them in Europe: two in Latvia, one in Spain and one in the UK. The center in Łódź will be the fifth in Europe and altogether eleventh plant owned by the company. Printful already employs over 700 employees in the Old Continent, which gives a total of over 1,600 Printful employees worldwide, PAIH reported.
