Gas-fired power plant in Ostrołęka, led by Orlen, Energa and PGNiG

The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection approved the establishment of CCGT Ostrołęka by PKN Orlen, Energa and PGNiG. The new entity is to deal with the construction of a gas block in Ostrołęka.

CCGT Ostrołęka will be established. There is the consent of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection
The permission by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection to establish the CCGT Ostrołęka company is another step on the way to building a new gas-fired unit at the local power plant. This is a project that replaced the would-be investment in the Ostrołęka C coal-fired unit.

As emphasized in the announcement on CCGT, “PGNiG will join the company after meeting the conditions described in the above-mentioned investment agreement, which include obtaining relevant corporate approvals from PGNiG.”

In December 2020, Orlen, Energa and PGNiG announced the construction of a gas block.
