The Polenergia Group has signed the first contract to provide Intervention Reduction Reduction (DSR) service, the company said. The client is Polskie Pomidory from the Citronex Group; as part of the agreement, the company from Zgorzelec offered its readiness to limit power consumption to 18 MW per hour.
“We have signed an aggregation agreement under the DSR program with one of the largest food companies in Poland. Due to the energy-consuming greenhouse production, the Citronex Group is a large energy recipient. An important factor determining the selection of our offer was a flexible approach to customer needs and the possibility of extending cooperation to other areas of the energy market in the future, “said Piotr Malik, Director of Structured Products at Polenergia Obrót.
The DSR reduction service offered by Polenergia Obrót is addressed to all customers who have the possibility and are ready to temporarily limit or shift their energy consumption at the request of the transmission system operator. The DSR mechanism was created as a response to potential threats to the functioning of the National Power System caused by energy consumption exceeding the current generation capacity of the Polish system.
