PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK) has announced tenders for five investments with a total value of approx. PLN 5.9 billion, informed President Ireneusz Merchel and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Bittel. PLK expects contracts with contractors to be signed in the fall.
“PKP PLK is announcing five tenders worth about PLN 6 billion, which are part of the application for funds from the Connecting Europe Facility [CEF]” – said Bittel.

“We are aware that not all applications can win the competition. If this happens, we will look for financial solutions, but for today we assume that we implement them under CEF, ”added the deputy minister.

In the presentation, PKP PLK announced that the announced tenders are reconstructions: the Będzin – Katowice Szopienice section (value approx. PLN 0.8 billion), the Tychy – Wisła Bridge section (Czechowice-Dziedzice direction, PLN 1 billion), the Zabrzeg – Zebrzydowice – border section countries (including the Czech Republic; PLN 1.9 billion), the Poznań railway bypass (PLN 1.6 billion) and the Słupsk station (PLN 0.6 billion).

All tenders except the last one are to be financed by CEF. The results of the competition for financing from the Connecting Europe Facility in 2021-2027 (the so-called CEF 2) are to be announced in June this year.
