Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) has announced a tender for the purchase and implementation of LTE radio network components operating in the 450 MHz band intended for the energy sector, the company said. The network is to be completed by January 2025, and the guarantee and maintenance of the network will be provided by the contractor until August 2033.
“The tender for RAN radio network components announced today is the second procurement procedure carried out as part of the work on the construction of the LTE450 communication network. We are consistently implementing the project, the work schedule of which provides for the launch of basic communication services in the LTE450 network by 2025. To build modern energy solutions necessary to implement the assumptions of the PGE Group’s strategy, safe and reliable broadband wireless connectivity is needed, which is why the LTE Program is one of the most important investment tasks of the PGE Group for the coming years, ”said Wojciech Dąbrowski, president of PGE.
The tender for the construction of the RAN network is conducted by PGE Systemy, and the ordering party is PGE Dystrybucja. The PGE Group generates 41% of net electricity production in Poland, and its share in the heat market is 18%. The Group estimates its share in the market of energy from renewable sources at 10%. In the distribution area of approx. 123 thousand. km2 PGE serves 5.5 million customers. Its market share in terms of the volume of distributed electricity is 25% and sales to end users – 33%. The company has been listed on the WSE since 2009.
