PGE Energia Ciepła – a subsidiary of Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) – will invest PLN 40 million in the construction of a 62 MWt reserve-peak natural gas boiler plant in the Gorzów branch, the company said. The new boiler house is to be put into operation by the end of 2023.
“As a producer of heat and electricity, we are an integral part of the cities in which we operate. Our ambition is to have at least 70% of heat generated from low or zero-emission fuels by 2030. To achieve this, in our combined heat and power plants, we conduct investment projects aimed at the complete elimination of coal in the production process. (…) ”- said Maciej Jankiewicz, vice president of PGE Energia Ciepła.
As part of the project, among others, boiler house on the premises of the heat and power plant, gas preparation station, two boilers and the necessary infrastructure, including pipelines and electrical installations. High-methane system gas will be the basic fuel.
