PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Tauron Polska Energia have concluded an agreement on the pilot of special communications network services in LTE technology in the 450MHz band in the Tauron license area, PGE reported. The agreement was signed by PGE Systemy and the Tauron distribution company, which will take steps to implement the LTE450 network in the Tauron Dystrybucja area.
“According to the schedule planned at PGE, the investment phase of the project is to last 4 years. Today’s agreement is an important step in the development of PGE’s LTE450 program ”- said the president of PGE Wojciech Dąbrowski.
The LTE450 network will ensure reliable and secure broadband data transmission for the energy sector. The transforming energy sector needs three main types of communication services – dispatch communication, remote control of energy infrastructure and remote reading of energy meters. The LTE450 network built by PGE, unlike other available dispatch communication networks, is able to provide all three of the above-mentioned services.
