PGE: A new unit at Turów Power Plant at full disposal for the transmission system operator

The new block at Turów power plant with a capacity of 496 MW is ready for operation and can already produce electricity in accordance with the demand reported by the transmission system operator – PGE announced on Saturday.

The press release sent to PAP emphasized that the shutdown of the block, which began on June 19, resulted from the provisions in the contract with the contractor of this investment – a consortium of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe GmbH, Budimex SA and Técnicas Reunidas SA.

Wojciech Dąbrowski, president of the management board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, emphasized that the contractor had adjusted individual technological systems and launched a power unit at the scheduled time. “A modern unit, which is to produce electricity for one million Polish households, is ready to produce electricity for the national energy system,” said Dąbrowski, quoted in the company’s announcement.
