Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG) has completed drilling two production boreholes in the Brońsko field in Wielkopolska. The boreholes will allow for the extraction of an additional 120 million cubic meters of gas annually, i.e. by 13 percent, PGNiG said.
“Brońsko is the second largest natural gas field in Poland. Its resources are exploited for a relatively short time, therefore it still has a large production potential. This is evidenced by the two recently drilled wells, thanks to which we will increase production from the deposit by over 10 percent. ” – said Robert Perkowski, Vice President of PGNiG for Operations.
Meanwhile, as reported by Bloomberg, the prices of natural gas in Europe jumped to the highest level since 2008. The main culprit is quite cold winter, which, although it ended many weeks ago, caused quite a significant loss of gas stocks on the continent.
