The National Center for Research and Development (NCBR), in response to the need to improve the efficiency of water resource management, NCBR launched a new strategic program, “Hydrostrateg”, allocating PLN 800 million for innovations for water management and inland navigation, NCBR reported.
“We created the “Hydrostrateg” program assumptions in cooperation with eight outstanding experts in the field of water – hydrologists, climatologists, biologists and environmental engineers. Together, we selected three key research areas in the program. These are: water in the environment (including biodiversity and bio-productivity), city water and inland navigation. The research and development work carried out under the program will certainly bring us closer to solving important water-related issues, such as supplying water to consumers, improving water quality and better spatial planning of water and drainage areas “- said Wojciech Kamieniecki, director of NCBR.
The budget of the entire program, planned for 10 years, is PLN 800 million. Project contractors will be selected in two types of competitions: for thematic projects and research challenges. The first call for proposals under the program is planned for the end of the second quarter of 2022.
