Luneos plans to start operating as a renewable energy supplier and invest approximately PLN 3 billion in the acquisition, development, construction and operation of a portfolio of renewable energy assets with a capacity of approximately 1 GW, the company said. Luneos plans to implement this plan within the next 3-4 years and has already obtained a significant part of the necessary capital by establishing, together with the Swiss fund SUSI Partners – Luneos Green Energy.
“The Polish RES sector has excellent development prospects. It is estimated that by 2030 the installed capacity from renewable energy sources will almost double. Renewable energy sources are and will be one of the main drivers of changes in the Polish energy sector. As Luneos, we want to be not only an active participant, but also a creator of these changes. That is why we decided to expand our scope of activity to the production of renewable energy. To this end, we have extended our cooperation with SUSI Partners, a Swiss fund management company specializing in investments in sustainable energy infrastructure, which in its history has already invested more than EUR 1 billion in renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy storage “- said president Zbigniew Prokopowicz.
The construction of the first projects is scheduled to start in the first half of 2022.
