KGHM Huta Miedzi Głogów and Huta Miedzi Legnica are among ten plants in the world with the Copper Mark – a certificate confirming the effective and compliant with the highest management standards for copper production.
The Copper Mark is a warranty system that promotes responsible production of red metal. Thus, the steel mills owned by KGHM have joined the elite group of only a few companies from around the world that are entitled to use the Copper Mark – the copper company announced on Friday.
Marcin Chludziński, president of KGHM Polska Miedź, emphasized that the award confirms that Huta Polska Miedź meets the highest global standards. “In line with the company’s strategy, we are constantly improving our production processes, which was also noticed. We meet environmental standards, apply responsible production practices and we can boast of great cooperation with stakeholders and local communities, ”said Chludziński.
Paweł Gruza, vice president of the management board of KGHM added that acquiring the Copper Mark would strengthen the brand of KGHM products, including the copper cathodes sold.
