InPost, a delivery platform for e-commerce in Europe, published its financial results for 2020. The group’s revenues increased by 104 percent to PLN 2.53 billion, and EBITDA by 184 percent to PLN 994 million, the EBITDA margin increased to 39.3 percent, and the adjusted EBITDA increased by 186 percent, up to PLN 1.00 billion.
InPost announced in a press release that in 2020 it increased the volume of parcels by 115 percent up to 310 million. The total number of lockers in Poland increased by 78%, to almost 1.5 million. At the end of last year, InPost had a total of 12,254 parcel machines, including 10,776 in Poland. The company’s plans for 2021 provide for the achievement of 16.5-18.5 thousand. parcel machines, of which in Poland there will be between 14.5 and 15.5 thousand.
InPost plans to acquire Mondial Relay
Inpost assumes that in 2021 its revenues will be in the range of PLN 3.46-3.61 billion, and taking into account the impact of the purchase of the French company Mondial Relay, they will be between PLN 5.7 and 5.9 billion
InPost is planning the acquisition of Mondial Relay, a French e-commerce parcel delivery platform, for approximately EUR 565 million (approximately PLN 2.6 billion).
The transaction will be finalized after obtaining the opinion of Mondial Relay’s works council and subject to regulatory approval. The transaction will be bridged for 365 days by a syndicate of seven banks. The company assumes that the transaction will be closed by the end of the second quarter of 2021. In the 12 months of 2020, Mondial Relay generated sales revenues of EUR 437 million and generated EBITDA of approximately EUR 60 million.
