New deal for hydrogen trains for Germany is good news for Chorzów

Alstom has signed a contract with the German LNVG carrier for the delivery of 34 Coradia Stream High Capacity double-decker trains. A significant part of the contract, worth nearly EUR 760 million, will be produced in Alstom Konstal in Chorzów.

The concluded contract also includes a train service for 30 years and an uninterrupted warranty for spare parts, Alstom informed.

The Polish branch of Alstom is an important link in the project. At the Alstom Konstal plant in Chorzów, 68 fully equipped single-level units will be manufactured. After the tests carried out on the premises of the Chorzów factory, the wagons will travel by train to Salzgitter. In addition, the Polish branch of Alstom will deliver chassis and sidewalls to 86 double-decker cars.
