Grupa Azoty has entered into an agreement to conduct exclusive negotiations with respect to the potential acquisition of 100% of shares in the share capital of Solarfarm Brzezinka, the company said. Pursuant to the signed agreement, the parties expressed their interest in cooperation on the project to build a photovoltaic power plant "Brzezinka" with a capacity of approximately 270 MWp. “This project is being developed by Solarfarm and includes preparatory, construction and assembly works, connection to the power grid, commissioning and potential operation of this power plant. Following the determination by Grupa Azoty S.A. and other parties to the agreement on the target business model and technical and economic parameters, and after meeting the conditions precedent agreed during the negotiations, the PV project may be purchased by Grupa Azoty S.A. or its subsidiary "- we read in the press release. ”As we have previously signaled, when investing in the field of renewable energy sources, we do not exclude the possibility of engaging in the implementation of external projects, provided that, of course, they meet the requirements of our installations and production processes. The signed contract opens the way for us to purchase the PV project under construction, which must be preceded by the fulfillment of key conditions stipulated in the contract, ”said the vice-president of Grupa Azoty, Filip Grzegorczyk, quoted in the material. The Grupa Azoty Group assumes that the total capacity of new RES in 2030 will reach approximately 380 MW. The Group estimates that thanks to the planned investments, it will avoid the cost of purchasing energy worth over PLN 200 million per year, and the average share of renewable energy sources in electricity production will be 40% by 2030, summarized.
