The UK company, which has raised $682m for its AI chip development, is looking for a broad range of people for the centre across a wide range of software engineering.
This includes the development of the company’s Poplar AI software stack, enabling major deployments such as AI cloud datacentres. Staff will also be providing direct support to Graphcore customers.
GraphCore’s engineering centre in Gdansk will eventually be home to the company’s largest software development team outside of the UK.
Poland has built a strong reputation for developing excellent homegrown software engineers and has also proved to be an attractive destination for talent relocating from elsewhere in the world, says the company. Intel, Amazon and a range of other technology companies have already set up major operations in Gdansk.
“We are delighted that Graphcore, a leading innovator in the AI sector, has chosen Gdańsk for its new software engineering centre,” said Piotr Mieczkowski, Managing Director of Digital Poland Foundation.
