Finalists compete at the Polish Private Equity Awards Awards Gala 2019

The jury of the PSIK Awards competition has selected the finalists for the most important awards of the Polish PE sector. The prizes will be awarded in 10 categories, including for the most important figures in the industry and transactions of the year, as well as for the best advisors. The winners will be announced during the gala crowning the 2nd edition of the competition, which will take place on May 30, 2019 in Warsaw. The special guest of the ceremony will be Dr. Ingmar Hoerr, founder and chairman of the supervisory board of CureVac, the world leader in innovative technology for the production of vaccines and medicines. One of CureVac’s investors is the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

“Finalists for the Awards are companies and individuals with exceptional achievements in the last year. These are special distinctions for the entire PE/VC environment”, said Barbara Nowakowska, managing director of the Polish Association of Capital Investors and Chairman of the competition jury. “The awards are an expression of appreciation for the professionalism, business and community activities of Private equity / venture capital investors.”

Candidates for the PSIK Awards were nominated by the members of the Association, and the final jury selection was made by the competition jury. The winners of this year’s prizes, which will be selected by voting companies associated in PSIK, will be announced at the Awards Gala on May 30, 2019 at the InterContinental hotel.

The gala will be graced by the speech of an exceptional guest – Dr. Ingmar Hoerra, founder and chairman of the supervisory board of CureVac, founded at the University of Tübingen. Ingmar Hoerr is an outstanding figure, the creator of breakthrough technology in the vaccine and drug market. The success of CureVac – a biotechnology unicorn – would not be possible without the backing of private equity investors, among others the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, who believed in and financed the company, enabling the vision of its creator to be realized.
