Famur doubles-down on shift away from coal with 1 billion pln “green bonds”

Famur signed a program agreement with Santander Bank Polska, Bank Pekao and Dom Maklerski BOŚ, thanks to which the company will be able to decide on multiple bond issues, including the so-called “Green” under the Bond Issue Program. The value of the issue will not exceed PLN 1 billion.

The final decision of the company to issue the bonds and its detailed terms will be made by the management board. If a decision is made to issue green bonds, the detailed allocation of funds will be specified in the terms and conditions of the issue, and the proceeds will be allocated for financing the development, purchase, construction and operation of investments which, on the basis of and in accordance with the Green Bond Framework, will be classified as the so-called green projects.

“By signing the program agreement, we give ourselves the opportunity to issue green bonds, thus gaining financing options for sustainable investments that bring benefits for the environment and help achieve the goal set by the group, which is to achieve approximately 70 percent (by 2024) of our revenues from areas not related to energy coal – including renewable energy, transport and logistics, and from the opportunities and benefits of the global transition to low-carbon economies” – says Mirosław Bendzera, president of Famur.
