The first Mercedes-Benz engine factory in Poland – a brand owned by Daimler AG – is to be built in Lower Silesia about 70 km from Wrocław on a 100 ha site in the Jawor administrative district within the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone. The petrol and diesel factory should be opened in 2019. When starting to plan the entire project, Daimler divided it into work packages. The current stage of the project included the construction of several buildings including a production hall and a two-storey office with a total of 48,300 sqm. Work on the current stage of the project should be completed February 1st 2019 with the following building to be ready in June 2019. The design is by Aecom Polska. Eventually over PLN 2 bln is to be invested in the project.
