DSM has announced that it will build the ‘industry’s first’ premix production plant dedicated to the early life nutrition market at its factory in Buk, Poland.
According to DSM, the new plant will be outfitted with advanced mixing technologies, allowing the company to develop complex infant formulas which meet the needs of manufacturers operating in the early life nutrition market.
Construction of the new plant will start in the next few weeks, and DSM estimates that the investment will double the production output of the factory within the next two years.
DSM has not disclosed the figure it has invested to expand the facility.
Frédéric Boned, vice-president EMEA, DSM Nutritional Products Human Nutrition & Health said: “At DSM, we are always looking for new ways to innovate and help our customers to create market-leading nutritional products for mothers and their babies.
“Achieving high standards of quality has always been of particular importance in this segment.
” The planning of a dedicated early life nutrition premix plant is a first for the industry and, throughout the design phase, we have been able to incorporate a number of advanced technologies that reflect the specialist needs of the market.”
