The startup wants to acquire several thousand farms in the country and several significant distributors, cooperating with retail chains and exporters by the end of 2023, and in 2024 the company intends to conduct international transactions on a large scale.

The exchange launched in the version of the test platform and completed the first transactions.

“DeFood (decentralized exchange of transparent food) is the first decentralized local food exchange that creates a virtual marketplace for B2B trade in agricultural products. The global project will connect the supply side, i.e. local food producers and importers from around the world, and parties interested in buying, such as distributors, retail chains, trading platforms, and HoReCa chains.


DeFood announces the opening of the platform to Western European countries in 2023, and first of all, it wants to cooperate with distributors and intermediaries in Spain and the Netherlands.

“Our goal is to present the project to future partners and clients from the agritech industry from around the world, as well as potential investors. We started the development of the platform thanks to an initial investment round of approximately PLN 300,000. zloty. In the current pre-seed investment round, we want to raise about PLN 1 million to accelerate technological work and promotion of the platform in Europe,” explained the founder of DeFood.
