Dealz launched its first distribution center in Poland

The Dealz chain, part of the Pepco Group, has opened its first distribution center in Poland in Łyszkowice (Łowicz poviat), Dealz reported.

“The 47,000 m2 warehouse, using modern technological solutions, will significantly speed up the handling of deliveries to stores. It will also help implement the ambitious development plans of the chain, which wants to double the number of its stores by the end of 2023.

The warehouse in Łyszkowice (near the intersection of the A1 and A2 motorways) has been stocked and already serves Dealz stores located throughout Poland.

“The dynamic development of our network on the Polish market requires great flexibility and an efficient logistics network. The new distribution center perfectly meets our needs also due to its geographical and strategic location from the transport and cost point of view. Thanks to it, we will be able to ensure uninterrupted availability of products that our customers so eagerly reach for,” commented Marcin Langowski, CEO of Dealz Poland, quoted in the release.

The distribution center is prepared for three-shift operation with the employment potential for 600 people. It uses a number of modern technological solutions, including forklifts with lithium-ion batteries with fast electric charging, which greatly increases the productivity of warehouse processes, and a photovoltaic installation that powers the external lighting of the facility, as indicated in the information.

“The opening of the new warehouse is part of a wider process of change at Dealz. In the coming months, the chain plans to introduce a modernization program in Poland, including the optimization of the assortment and store space, as well as the implementation of new technological solutions. All this to ensure even higher quality of customer service and increase the working comfort of Dealz employees. The chain is also working on optimizing its supply chain, which will allow for even more efficient service of existing and new stores.

The first Dealz store in Poland was opened in February 2018 in Swarzędz, and currently there are 170 outlets in Poland offering a wide range of over 3,000 products of well-known brands. Currently, the chain employs nearly 2,000 employees in stores and headquarters in Poland.

The Pepco Group currently has approximately 4,000 stores located in 19 countries, including Great Britain, Ireland, Spain and the region of Central and Eastern Europe, and employs approximately 43,000 people.

Pepco Group operates in two market segments: through PEPCO (a chain of multi-branch discount stores) and Poundland/Dealz (a chain of stores operating in the impulse purchase model of groceries, general purpose, seasonal and necessities sold in the formula of uniform prices). The company debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2021.
