CDRL retailer announces strong bounce-back in profitability

CDRL recorded PLN 31.74 million of consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company in 2021 compared to a loss of PLN 36.78 million a year earlier, the company said.

The operating profit amounted to PLN 44.29 million compared with PLN 3.11 million loss a year earlier. The EBITDA result amounted to PLN 64.31 million compared to PLN 25.78 million a year earlier.

Consolidated sales revenues reached PLN 444.25 million in 2021 compared to PLN 405.67 million a year earlier.

"The results achieved in 2021 are satisfactory for us, especially taking into account the circumstances in which we run our business. 2021 was again marked by challenges related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic, which had an impact on socio-economic constraints. We continued to face restrictions related to the government's sanitary regime and the periodic closures of shopping centers. The quick adaptation of our strategy to the current conditions and its consistent implementation have brought a tangible effect”, commented President Marek Dworczak.

On a standalone basis, the net profit in 2021 was PLN 21 million, compared to PLN 0.14 million in profit a year earlier.

CDRL is a distributor of children's clothing sold under its own brand Coccodrillo, which is known on four continents, including in countries such as China, Brazil and Saudi Arabia. The company debuted on the WSE main market in 2014. The CDRL Group owns its own brands Coccodrillo, Lemon Explore, Petit Bijou, Broel and the largest children's supermarket chain in Belarus - Buslik.
