BASF SE has signed a two-year contract to purchase 100% renewable energy to power its mobile emissions catalysts plant in Sroda Slaska.
The German chemicals company’s Polish business struck the deal with PGE Obrot, a subsidiary of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA.
The contract will help BASF in its objective of attaining climate neutrality by 2050, said Katarzyna Byczkowska, BASF Polska’s managing director. The company didn’t reveal any financial details of the contract.
