Baltic Power – a company from the PKN Orlen Group – has obtained the first of several necessary building permits for a 1.2 GW offshore wind farm project, and at the same time the first permit of this type issued for an offshore wind project implemented in Poland, announced the president of PKN Orlen Daniel Obajtek.
The construction of the Baltic Power offshore wind farm with a capacity of up to 1.2 GW is a project carried out by PKN Orlen in partnership with the Canadian company Northland Power. The investment area, with a total area of approx. 131 km2, is located approx. 23 km north of the Baltic Sea coastline, at the height of Łeba and Choczewo.
The PKN Orlen Group manages six refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, and also conducts mining operations in Poland and Canada. Its consolidated sales revenues reached PLN 131.5 billion in 2021. The company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 1999.
