The European Space Agency will provide EUR 5.6 million under the newly created Industrial Policy Task Force (IPTF) in the years 2022-2024 for the development of the Polish space industry, the Polish Space Agency POLSA reported. Polish enterprises will not have to compete with other firms in open tenders.
“The European Space Agency has created a new mechanism for Poland – the Industrial Policy Task Force (IPTF). Under the mechanism, in the years 2022-2024, as much as EUR 5.6 million will be allocated exclusively to contracts for Polish entities. These will be funds that Poland pays through the obligatory contribution to ESA and which will be redirected to specific activities supporting the development of the Polish space industry. On the Polish side, MRiT, MEiN and POLSA participated in the creation of the mechanism, ”reads the release.
The new mechanism will enable the effective inclusion of Polish enterprises in European supply chains and participation in the largest international missions, thus building solid competences in the field of space exploration, it was also stated.
POLSA – the MRiT executive agency – was established in 2014 to support the Polish space industry by implementing the priorities of the Polish Space Strategy.
