LOT Polish Airlines has opened a simulator training center for pilots this year, and will offer so-called full-flight simulators of Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Embraer airplanes.
However, LOT, which recorded a loss of PLN 1 billion last year and saved itself with public aid, would not be able to bear such an investment. Another company under the umbrella of the Polish Aviation Group (PGL) will take care of this.
First of all, we need B787, which no other operator in Poland and the region has today, and Embraer aircraft simulators, because we have 37 of them in the fleet – explained Maciej Wilk, member of the PLL LOT management board for operational matters, at a meeting with journalists.
The Polish Aviation Group has been assigned a mission to develop and consolidate the aviation market. This entire project is not an investment of LOT, but PGL. Today, LOT Flight Academy is the nucleus of this future aviation academy, which is in the process of being spun off to a separate company. LOT will be its client – explained Maciej Wilk.
