Ericsson boosts 5G innovation with 3,500 training hours

5G technology will enable the development of new services, ecosystems and new sources of revenue for Polish companies. However, if we want innovation, we need knowledge to start with. As part of the S5 – 5G Technology Accelerator, Ericsson will provide nearly 3,500 training hours for 40 startups and 5 industrial partners. As a result, thanks to the transfer of knowledge in the environment of the functioning 5G infrastructure, over 20 products and services ready for implementation in business will be created.

Polish entrepreneurs do not want to miss the development opportunity offered by 5G. According to a study by Ericsson, 71.5% of companies believe that 5G technology will increase the competitiveness of the Polish economy compared to other European Union countries. In addition, almost one fifth (18%) declares that their company’s strategy for the coming years includes the use of 5G technology, and more than half of them (53%) plan to introduce 5G solutions within 2-3 years.

The S5 program functions as a real industrial ecosystem with 40 startups and five industrial partners – Polkomtel, Miele, PGE, Indigo and Wielton. The program consists of 2 stages – incubation and acceleration. From the first stage, to the acceleration phase, i.e. creating real solutions using 5G, about 20 projects will be implemented, each of which will receive up to 550,000. PLN. Taking into account the incubation phase, the budget of the Program is PLN 14 million granted to the Łódź Special Economic Zone by the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship.
